My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Arlo! Arlo is a 7-year-old neutered male who weighs around 75 lbs — a big boy with an even bigger heart! Despite his size, Arlo is incredibly calm, gentle, and easy to walk. He`s the kind of dog who will happily stroll by your side, stopping only for ear rubs and a few sweet kisses along the way. Affectionate and laid-back, Arlo is the perfect companion for someone looking for a mellow, loyal friend. Whether you`re enjoying a quiet evening at home or heading out for a relaxing walk, Arlo will be right by your side, soaking up your love and returning it tenfold.
Come meet Arlo and see just how special this sweet soul is. He might just be the perfect addition to your family!

More about this shelter

The City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department’s mission is to protect and serve the pets and people of Albuquerque by providing Caregiving, Awareness, Resources, Enforcement and Service excellence.

AWD is always in need of foster homes for our pets who need time to grow, recovery from illness or injury or in need of a break from the shelter. Foster homes increase our capacity to provide services to homeless pets in our community. If you would like to donate toys, towels and milk-bones are always in need. Volunteer opportunities are also available at our shelters.
