My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Storm, an energetic and effervescent young pup ready to settle into his forever family this holiday season! In classic Bully fashion, Storm is a professional snuggler and enjoys spending chilly afternoons cuddled up under some blankets. Despite his name, Storm is not a big fan of the rainy Vancouver weather, but when the sun finally decides to make an appearance Storm will join you for a nice long stroll! Storm also enjoys playing "no-give-back" with squeaky toys, chewing on bully sticks, and snoring his little heart out as he takes a puppy nap.

Storm gets very attached to his people, and has been exhibiting some separation anxiety when his foster people leave him unattended. Potential adopters should be prepared to work with Storm to gradually increase his confidence with being left alone. Storm is fully housetrained and knows a few basic commands, and is making progress with his leash manners too!

Want to learn more about Storm? Submit an adoption application today, and one of our staff members will be happy to chat with you! Storm is currently in foster, and all meet-and-greets will need to be arranged in advance. Storm can't wait to meet you!

More about this shelter

Our Mission:

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its 36 branches located around BC and its provincial office in Vancouver, the BC SPCA provides a wide range of services for more than 53,000 homeless, abused, and abandoned animals around the province. The BC SPCA was created under the auspices of the provincial Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and is the only animal welfare organization in BC which has the authority to enforce laws relating to animal cruelty and to prepare cases for Crown Counsel for the prosecution of individuals who inflict suffering on animals.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
