My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Karma was brought in by a community member on November 2, 2025.

Why Karma might be the one for you:
Karma is a young, high energy dog who wants to bring good karma into her new house. She is a strong lady with a thick black and white fur coat that will want to be brushed often. Karma has not had a lot of good things in her life and she is so ready to live a better life. She wants warmth, consistent food, nice beds and most important, she wants active people who will include her in their active lives. She is energetic and will need plenty of physical exercise and mental enrichment. She does not handle boredom well. She can be strong willed and training her will require consistency, positive reinforcement techniques and a firm, patient owner. Once trained, she will be your most loyal friend. Karma is a special dog who will require a special dog person who has the patience and experience training a smart dog like Karma. She may not do well with cats or other small pets as Karma does have some natural prey instincts. A consistent routine and fun, enriching activities will help her get used to her new home and feel like part of her new family! Do you have the space in your heart and home for an independent, smart and friendly dog like Karma? If you'd like to learn more about Karma come visit us at the San Diego Campus today!

At SDHS:
Karma has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed neutered. Karma is now ready for her new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
