My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Curious and sweet, Camilo melts your heart when he looks up at you with his “innocent” caramel eyes. He loves to watch what you’re doing and check out anything new, and loves to explore. Camilo always has something to say about everything and he loves attention and treats. With his polydactyl paws, he retrieves his own toys from under things and can even open cabinet doors (though he doesn’t make a habit of it). He and his brother love to play and he often carries toys around to play with them. There’s not a toy that he doesn’t enjoy, but he particularly likes chewing on toys, especially ones that have a crunch to them, so he would love having some toys specific for chewing (and would probably save any fun looking cables you might have lying around). He might be a little shy at first, but he warms up very quickly and takes his role as “chaotic cutie” very seriously. Camilo is a born adventurer, ready to steal your heart with his cuteness.

Would do best in a home where he has a playmate, things to keep him occupied (and to chew on and sink his nails in), and someone to cuddle with. He is currently being fostered with his brother, Cloud, KRLA-A-87102). There are no other pets or children in the home. Does not respond to his name, so he’ll be open to a new one if you so decide.

Additional adoption info

We adopt animals to homes in the Los Angeles area and neighboring counties.

To help ensure that we place our cats in loving, responsible, committed homes, we have a screening process before you can adopt a pet from Kitten Rescue. We reserve the right to turn down potential adopters as we deem necessary. First, we ask that you complete our Adoption Questionnaire at kittenrescue.org/cat-adoption-form/. You can complete the form online or you may stop by a weekly adoption event to complete form in person. Second, a home visit or a home delivery of the cat or kitten is also required as part of our adoption process.

The Kitten Rescue adoption fee is $150 for a kitten or cat up to 10 years old, and $100 for each additional kitten or cat to the same household ($250 if you adopt a pair). Cats above 10 years old have a fee reduction of 50%, for an adoption fee of $75 each.

All of our cats have already been:
Spayed or neutered
Vaccinated – with at least one FVRCP vaccination
Treated for fleas
Dewormed
Tested for FeLV (Feline Leukemia) and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus)
Microchipped

More about this rescue

Kitten Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. We rescue cats and kittens from the streets of Los Angeles and from City Shelter euthanasia. Since our start in 1997, we have grown into one of the largest, most well-respected animal welfare groups in LA.

Kitten Rescue volunteers adopt out over 2,000 cats and kittens into homes every year. We educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, how to care for kittens and cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Kitten Rescue makes educational material available via events, print, school presentations and here on our website. We also provide Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) assistance for communities in and around Los Angeles, and teach people how to manage and care for feral cat colonies.
