My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Merry is a beautiful soul who has been quietly growing braver every day.
She’s a sweet, wiggly pittie mix who forms deep bonds with the people she trusts. Once she feels safe, Merry shows her affectionate side easily and enjoys being close to her people. She has done especially well building relationships with female staff and volunteers and is a loving, gentle companion once comfortable.
Merry can be timid around men and needs a home that understands confidence comes with time, patience, and kindness. She has never shown aggression—when she feels unsure, she chooses to step away rather than confront. With steady reassurance, she continues to make progress and gain confidence.
With other dogs, Merry may be a little nervous at first, but with slow introductions, we believe she could potentially live with a canine companion. A meet-and-greet with any resident dog would be required. She has no known history with children or cats, so meet-and-greets with family members are recommended to ensure everyone’s comfort.
Merry is the kind of dog who will truly blossom in a calm, supportive home—one that allows her to move at her own pace and celebrates each small win along the way. In return, she’ll offer loyalty, sweetness, and a heart that’s ready to love deeply.
