My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rebel ribbon A180300
36 lb. spayed female, approx 3 years old

-Meet this tender-hearted sweetheart who just wants to feel safe, loved, and close to her person. She started off a little nervous, but the moment she realized I was there for her, she started to relax. She walked beautifully on a loose leash, only pausing now and then for a bit of encouragement.

-In the yard, she explored slowly and softly, taking in her surroundings with quiet curiosity. When I called her over, she happily came for pets, leaning in as if she’d been waiting for that moment all day. Before long, she climbed right into my lap, soaking up affection and offering sweet kisses. When I sat on the ground with her, she made it clear—cuddles are her love language.

-She’s wonderfully well mannered, treat motivated, and sits politely every time she’s asked. She takes treats with the gentlest little nibble. Though she isn’t into toys right now, she did show a bit of playful spark—tiny zoomies that turned into the cutest army crawls.

-She can be flinchy with fast movements, and her nervousness shows at first, but with time and kindness she settles beautifully into a calm, loving companion.

If you’re looking for a soft, affectionate girl who just wants to be your cuddle buddy, this lovely soul is ready to meet you. 💛

•Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt

•Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment.

•Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in.

•There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption.

•To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering.

**And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.**

•The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30
