My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How Nemo arrived:
Nemo was brought in by their previous owner on December 18, 2025.

Why Nemo is the one for you:
Meet Nemo! Nemo is a laid-back floof who prefers to go with the flow. Mostly a professional lounger, Nemo is happy to relax the day away-but toss him a toy, and you'll see him just keep swimming right into playtime before drifting back to his favorite cozy spot. Nemo came in with his son, Pumpkin 977281, and while he loves family, he's happiest when he has his own space to feel secure. Nemo can be a bit shy with new people and may choose to duck for cover at first, but with patience and a calm environment, he does well with gentle interaction. He politely lets you know when he's ready to swim off by moving away-clear communication, very classy. Nemo is generally okay around children and tends to do his own thing or quietly relocate when things get busy. Nemo would thrive in a home that understands his mellow nature, respects his space, and lets him settle in at his own pace. Calm seas, soft fur, and a personality that's shore to grow on-Nemo is ready to find his reef... er, home. Don't forget to bring a carrier when you come to meet him. 🐾💙

At SDHS:
Nemo has been vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. Nemo is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
