My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Vivian – the sweetest special needs kitten you’ll ever meet!

At just 8 months old, Vivian is full of love, play, and determination. Her back legs are paralyzed, but you’d never guess it by how fast she zips around the house. Her front legs are strong and powerful, carrying her everywhere she wants to go—and when she’s extra excited, she even hops like a bunny!

Vivian adores playing with toys, chasing her kitty friends, and starting her purr motor the instant you touch her. Once she gets to know you, her purrs are so loud they can be heard across the room, and she’s happiest when curled up in your lap, gazing at you with the most loving eyes. Her foster says she is the sweetest, most loving kitten. She will follow you around and sit at the bottom of the couch waiting for you to pick her up for snuggles. Snuggles are her favorite thing ever. She is a constant cuddle bug.

Her veterinarians confirm she has no feeling in her back legs or tail, so she isn’t in any pain—she’ll simply always move through life with her unique hop-scoot style. Because of her paralysis, Vivian does need some special care. She wears a diaper and requires her bladder to be expressed twice daily. The process and re-diapering take 5 minutes and is easy to learn, and her foster family will happily guide you through every step of the way. She also has special pants to help her move without creating sores on her legs.

Adopting a special needs kitten like Vivian is an incredibly rewarding experience. You’re giving a little soul who might have otherwise been overlooked the chance at a perfect, loving home. In return, Vivian will fill your life with laughter, resilience, and endless purrs. If you’re looking for a truly special companion, Vivian won’t disappoint!

The adoption fee for all cats and kittens is $190. This includes Microchip, FIV/FeLV testing, all age-appropriate vaccinations, flea/ear mite treatment, deworming, and spay/neuter with our veterinarian. When adopted, our cats and kittens are healthy, to the best of our knowledge. Many of our rescued kitties were not cared for adequately in their previous lives and are in need of significant vet care when they come to us. Frequently, we spend much more per cat or kitten than is covered by the adoption fee. Because Little Buddies is a predominately volunteer organization, we rely on donations and adoption fees to cover our veterinary and pet care expenses. We adopt to those in Northern Virginia, as well the Maryland and Washington, DC area.

Go meet their pets

All of our cats and kittens are fostered in the homes of our dedicated volunteer Foster Parents, who help us ensure every little buddy is socialized to be the perfect companion for you and your family. We've frequently heard people say that they will only ever adopt from us because of the love and care that we give to each and every kitty. Approved adopters will meet our little buddies in the foster family's home, giving you the opportunity to make meaningful initial connections without the chaos of an adoption event.
