Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Sloane — an adorable little terrier with short legs and a long, lovable body! At around four years old, she’s a perfect companion who’s been searching for her forever home for 51 days.
Sloane gets along wonderfully with other dogs and adores kids, though she’s not a fan of cats. She’s house-trained, walks nicely on a leash, basically ready to impress you with how smart she is!
She loves to be held, fits perfectly on your lap for cuddles, and will even sneak in some treat smuggling when she can 😄. Sweet, silly, and full of love, Sloane is ready to be your loyal sidekick.
Currently in a foster home, she’s patiently waiting for a family to call her own. Could that be you?

More about this shelter
Friends of DeKalb County-AL Animal Adoption Center is a 501c3, non profit, all volunteer, foster based rescue and not the shelter staff.
Our mission is to improve visibility and increase awareness of the countless number of abandoned, homeless animals located in the DeKalb County-AL Animal Shelter, with the ultimate goal being to unite these deserving animals with the perfect family to call their own.
Whether it be by finding adopters for homeless animals, reuniting lost pets with their owners or increasing community awareness about important issues, our volunteers are dedicated to being a voice for the animals in our area that are in need.
However, we can not do this alone. There are numerous ways that you can help in this effort, including volunteering, educating, donating, fostering a pet until it is adopted and sharing pictures of animals that are posted on our page.
The list of ways to help is endless and can be tailored to meet whatever your needs may be.
For those of you interested in making a monetary donation, please send your donation via Paypal to friendsofdcaac@gmail.com.
Any donations are greatly appreciated and can truly save lives.
