Hunter the German Shepherd – 2 Years Old **Foster to Adopt** Hunter is a sweet boy. His foster mom raves about him, saying he is without a doubt the most affectionate dog she can remember being around. He can`t get close enough to you on the couch, and the way he drifts softly and soundly into a content sleep and starts to snore will make your heart melt. People are his favorite, and because of this, his loyalty to his family will be deep. He would thrive in a home as an only dog and the center of his family’s attention and affection. He’s a sucker for a cuddle. Hunter is busy, very playful and very active. He doesn’t seem to have an off switch when playing with other dogs, and so when they have had enough, Hunter sometimes misses the cues, and play can go from fun to annoying. Hunter has not been cat tested. He is a toy loving boy. If he’s not ready to relax in the house or yard, he will find a toy and entertain himself for long periods of time. Hunter is good at making his own fun. Big strong boys need big strong toys. Hunter needs plenty of daily exercise and structure. Ideally, he should not go to a first-time dog owner, not because he isn’t awesome, but because of the requirements we feel he needs to keep him happy, healthy and stimulated. Knowledge of Shepherds (with a splash of Malinois) would be best. Lastly, Hunter had an injury to his hind leg as a young puppy. It has healed incorrectly, although at this point, it does not cause him any pain as far as we can tell and certainly does not slow him down. We are looking into the possibility of surgery in the New Year once our team of specialists has had time to review his x-rays. That surgery would be covered by the rescue. We are happy to answer any questions with regards to Hunter`s leg. 403-816-0759
