My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet senior gentleman has had quite the journey, and he’s ready to finally settle into a forever home filled with love and comfort. Rockie was adopted from the ASPCA over a decade ago, and recently found himself back at the same shelter when his owner had to move into assisted living and sadly couldn’t take him along. Thankfully, the ASPCA reached out to us right away, and we rushed to bring him to Pug Nation, where he’s been settling in and enjoying his new temporary home.

Rockie is estimated to be about 14 years old and weighs 17 pounds, and like many seniors, comes with a few “classic” traits: he’s completely blind, has a few lumps and bumps, and experiences a bit of arthritis. But none of that slows him down! In fact, Rockie has an undeniable curiosity for the world around him and an endless capacity for love. He takes life at his own pace, especially on walks, enjoying a good sniff and a slow stretch of his legs.

This gentle guy thrives in quiet, mellow environments where he can soak up attention, snuggle in soft beds, and curl up next to his favorite humans or fellow dog friends. His favorite pastime? Napping, snuggling, and feeling safe and adored. Rockie has been through a lot in his life, yet he still has so much love to give and plenty of life left to live.

If you’re looking for a loyal, loving senior companion who will follow you from couch to couch, give you all the snuggles, and approach every day with quiet curiosity and sweetness, Rockie might just be your perfect match. Could this special boy’s next chapter be with you? Please inquire today!

More about this rescue

Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of abandoned, neglected, unwanted, displaced, and abused pugs. Our goal is to find every homeless pug a forever home; if we cannot do that, we pledge to provide a comfortable and loving place for sick or unwanted pugs to live out their lives. Our Board of five and numerous volunteers are passionate about Pug Rescue and live by our motto of “One Pug at a Time”. We feel that through our efforts we can change many of these forgotten Pug’s lives. In order to find our Pugs a home as soon as possible, we hold at least three adoption fairs a month and also organize a number of fundraising events, including the annual Pugtacular festival and Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood. These events and on-line fundraising have provided the money to help pay for vet treatments, medicine and loving care at our Pug Station. We rely on the generosity of our supporters through donations and participation in our fundraising activities. If you would like to make a donation, find out about the next event, become a volunteer, foster, or adopt your own rescue pug, you are in the right place! You can also follow us on Facebook and twitter, there is always something going on and new pugs needing your help.
