My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet little girl, estimated to be about 2 years old and weighing 20 pounds, has had a rough start in life. She was originally mistreated, but a kind-hearted person stepped in to give her a bit of love and safety. Unfortunately, it wasn’t quite the right fit, so Cherith came to us, ready to finally find her forever home - a place where she can feel completely safe and loved.

Cherith is a sensitive soul, and she can be fearful around new people at first. It takes patience, consistency, and lets be honest… a few treats to win her over. But once she trusts you, she’s all in! She thrives on love and attention, and she craves a home where she can feel safe and secure. With gentle guidance, she’s making wonderful progress every day, showing just how resilient and sweet she truly is.

She does well with other dogs and they seem to give her confidence and comfort. Men and new people can be a bit intimidating for her initially, but she is never aggressive, she’s just cautious. Cherith is learning that the world can be kind, and she’s ready to meet someone patient and loving who will help her fully blossom.

Once she knows she can trust you, Cherith becomes a devoted little shadow, following you from room to room and happily snuggling up right next to you. She is playful in her own gentle way, affectionate, and full of heart!

Cherith is still young and has her whole life ahead of her to decompress, grow confident, and show off her true personality. She’s very special and deserves a home where she can thrive and be cherished. Could you be the person to give Cherith the safe, loving home she’s been dreaming of? Please inquire today!

More about this rescue

Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of abandoned, neglected, unwanted, displaced, and abused pugs. Our goal is to find every homeless pug a forever home; if we cannot do that, we pledge to provide a comfortable and loving place for sick or unwanted pugs to live out their lives. Our Board of five and numerous volunteers are passionate about Pug Rescue and live by our motto of “One Pug at a Time”. We feel that through our efforts we can change many of these forgotten Pug’s lives. In order to find our Pugs a home as soon as possible, we hold at least three adoption fairs a month and also organize a number of fundraising events, including the annual Pugtacular festival and Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood. These events and on-line fundraising have provided the money to help pay for vet treatments, medicine and loving care at our Pug Station. We rely on the generosity of our supporters through donations and participation in our fundraising activities. If you would like to make a donation, find out about the next event, become a volunteer, foster, or adopt your own rescue pug, you are in the right place! You can also follow us on Facebook and twitter, there is always something going on and new pugs needing your help.
