Hi, my name is Cheers and I'm from Northern Minnesota.
Cheers is an affectionate, smart, and playful pup who is settling beautifully into home life. She pretty much sleeps through the night and only needs a quick potty break if she’s truly restless. She is house-trained on a consistent schedule and no longer has regular accidents. Cheers is not a barker, aside from some kennel protest when left alone, and she loves exploring outside—especially in the snow—though adventures are shorter in very cold weather. She’s an excellent leash walker, even without a fenced yard, and she absolutely loves water and bath time. Cheers has mastered “sit,” is working on “stay,” and responds well to “off.” She isn’t much of a jumper unless she hasn’t seen you in a while, and she respects house rules by staying off the furniture. She’s an incredible cuddler, so excited to see you in the morning, and is a joy to play with. She loves her toys, enjoys food puzzles to slow her down, and is very smart—sometimes a little too smart, as she can be an escape artist! On top of it all, she’s ridiculously cute and truly a little peanut.
Cheers is still working through a few things. Crate training is a work in progress as she is having a hard time being left alone, leading to accidents in there, and the only times she will bark. She is also teething and may try to gnaw on hands when overtired, though she redirects well to toys.

More about this rescue
The Bond Between is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on the bond between humans and animals. We were founded in 2009 as Secondhand Hounds. Since then, we have rescued over 29,000 dogs and cats with the help of thousands of fosters, volunteers, and supporters in our community. Our organization has grown from a rescue to a first-in-its-class animal wellbeing organization... now The Bond Between! We continue to provide safe shelter, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities for animals while working hard to help them build a bond with humans. We also focus on supporting the bonds that already exist between people and pets with our pet food shelf, respite foster care program, and focus on social services.
We wake up every morning saying YES to connecting people and animals, caring for them, and helping them fill each other’s hearts.
You can help support us today by donating, fostering, volunteering, or sharing The Bond Between.
