Meet the cutest girl west of the Mississippi - Kaylee! This sweet Pekingese is a senior at about 12 years young, but don't let her age fool you. She has a cute personality and plenty of pep, and she certainly doesn't act her age. Kaylee enjoys walks when the weather is nice, short car rides, and even a little game of chase now and then. She enjoys the simple things in life.
As an older lady, Kaylee would prefer to be in a home without children. She can be a little grumbly if you come between her and her food or bed. She can manage going up a few stairs, but will need to be carried down. Kaylee has moderate arthritis in her upper back and hips so our vet has recommended that she stay on a daily supplement (Dasuquin) and consider a collagen supplement as well to keep her mobile for many years to come! Kaylee came to us with a history of urinary concerns (bladder stones) that are well managed with a prescription diet and quarterly vet checks (a urinalysis is recommended every 3 months). Kaylee could happily share a home with another low-key dog and/or cat and you will find her to be a sweet and grateful companion!
Kaylee's adoption fee is $250 and includes her spay, microchip, and current vaccinations/preventatives. Kaylee is seeking an indoor only home. Last Hope requires that all adopters have a history of having kept their pets indoors, altered, and current on wellness exams, vaccinations and preventatives. If you would like to meet Kaylee, please submit an adoption application on our website, Adopthope.org.
