Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Trouble
6-month-old female Yorkshire Terrier
Approx. 5 lbs
Decatur, IL
Trouble is a spunky little lady who lives up to her name in the best way. She loves to play and has a great time romping with both her foster fur siblings and her human (non-fur) siblings. Treats are a favorite, but she prefers to carry them off to a quiet spot to enjoy them in privacy. Snow was a bit suspicious at first, but she gave it her best effort and tried to be excited about it—at least for a minute.
Trouble would enjoy having a playmate in her new home, though it’s important that any dog siblings understand she’s a little lady and play gently. As a Yorkshire Terrier, she has all the classic breed traits: confident, lively, affectionate, and full of personality. Yorkies are known for forming strong bonds with their people and bringing a lot of joy (and spunk) into a home, all in a small package.
She will need routine grooming every 6 weeks to keep her coat healthy and comfortable. Trouble is scheduled to be spayed and will receive her spay before heading to her forever home. She is current on vaccines, microchipped, and on monthly flea and heartworm prevention.
Leia’s Hope is a foster-based, volunteer-run rescue. Applications take 7–10 business days to process. Meet and greets are by approved application only. We do not transport dogs; adopters must travel to the dog’s location for meet and adoption.
Puppies are a 15+ year commitment, and adopters must be prepared to commit to Trouble for her lifetime. Rehoming is not permitted. For more information and to apply, please visit leiashope.org.

We are a licensed foster based rescue. We rescue mostly seniors and special need dogs as these are normally the first to be euthanized in shelters.
Our Mission:
To rescue, rehabilitate and rehome unwanted dogs and find the best home for each dog in our care. Our belief is all healthy and treatable dogs, regardless of breed or age, have the right to life, happiness, and love.
