My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Frenchetta ACCT-A-239126! Frenchetta is a 4-year-old female who was brought in by police as a stray on 12/11. Police noted that she was “feisty but allowed leashing”.

Behavior Notes:

Per volunteer 12/21: Frenchetta was front and center waiting for me to take her out. I didn’t need any treats today to get her to come out and she loved being pet! Super easy walk and was very friendly

Per staff 12/21: Per Aca: low energy, leash dodger, energy went up once out in the yard, attached to handler

From a volunteer 12/21: - I had her out Friday evening. She walked to the back of the kennel when I approached and up on the bed and I could tell she was scared. She is very treat motivated. I gave her treats to allow me to leash her (soft talk to her as well) and I used the leash hanging outside her kennel. Again I gave her a few treats to lead her out of the kennel. Once out she was easy to walk. I went in and out the back door of iso so it was less steps for her to have to do since she has those short legs. It was very windy and cold Friday night , so the walks were short

Per staff 12/14: “Kennel Presentation: laying down when i approached this time. Wide eyes, ears forward and body neutral. Tossed a treat and she ate it.
Leash Skills: had to do multiple treat lures to leash up and tried to lure with a treat out of the kennel. However i had to use leash pressure to get out of kennel. Kept her walking with verbal encouragement.
Sociability: semi social after some time in the eval room. I did some light touching with the leash, her body was stiff with wide eyes and ears back. Her tail is hard to read but it seemed tightly down. When i sat down she did come over and put her front paws on my legs leaning her head on my treat pouch. I was able to gently pet down her side and around her neck. She does cower if you gov over her head and will close her eyes.
Play: n/a
Dog Interaction: met puppy kiji. She was stiff and growled when he jumped on her back.
Return to Kennel: when she was laying in my lap i was able to clip the leash. Tossed a treat into her kennel for her to follow and slipped the leash off.
Color Level: Exp blue”

Per staff 12/14: “On leash in eval room, met Kiji. Slow movements, head low, furrowed brow, puppy dog eyes. Stiff body, looked overwhelmed and defeated.
Her handler got down to her level and she accepted pets, slow movements to crawl into her lap and chin rest on her treat pouch.”

Per staff 12/14: “Attempted to get out to eval. She was avoidant of the leash, kept backing away into the corner. Head low, wide eyes and ears forward. I was tossing treats and she was eating them. When I presented the leash again she did move forward at me, low growling with a closed mouth. I was eventually able to get the leash on her, head remained low and she was hard staring at me. Continued to toss treats and tried to lure her out, she then began hard barking and growling at me. I tried leash pressure but she pulled back. Will try later to get out again.”

Per staff 12/11: “TTA, put straight in kennel due to being fractious when getting taken out of the vehicle. Starting on meds will try again another day”

Medical Notes:

Per an exam on 12/12:
-Unable to check altered status
-Unable to look at teeth and gums
-Ears are dirty
-Broad shoulders, little body
-Allowed all vaccines with towel over head
