Hey there! My name is Stitch and I'm a ruggedly handsome brown tabby kitty with sparkling green eyes. I'm a jolly, easy-going, and friendly fella who is a joy to spend time with. Having company and getting some extra attention makes my day. I like pets and head rubs. My favorite treat is yummy Churus. I like catnip - catnip-dipped mice are fun to lick and roll around with. What's my favorite pastime? Hanging out with you, of course! I just happen to be looking for a loving person to share my life with. Are you ready to find your very own chill kitty to hang out with? The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria is an independent, local, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and recognized by Charity Navigator as a Four Star Charity. Operating the Vola Lawson Animal Shelter, an open-admission facility and Alexandria’s only animal shelter, the League provides care for more than 3,500 animals every year, including strays, lost pets, local wildlife, rescue animals, and pets surrendered by their owners. Serving the community since 1946, the League has contracted with the City of Alexandria to provide animal care, control, and sheltering services since 1989. The AWLA is committed to ending animal homelessness, promoting animal welfare, and serving as an educational resource for the community.
