Meet Darlie!

Darlie is an 8-year-old miniature poodle mix weighing just 12 pounds. She came to Canine Collective from an Amish breeding situation, arriving frightened and unsure of the world. With patience, safety, and gentle care, this little girl has made heartwarming progress in a short time.

After about six weeks in a home, Darlie is now comfortable going outside to potty and has learned that kind humans can be trusted. Once she knows you, she allows handling and enjoys being picked up by those whove earned her confidence. Shes also discovered a love for Snausages (a girl after our own hearts!) and can use washable pee pads overnight if needed.

Darlie would do best in a calm, patient home and would truly thrive with another confident dog to help show her the ropes. Shed love to be adopted with her daughter Debbie, but its not required.

Our adoption process takes several steps and cannot be completed in one day. All of our volunteers work full time and assist the rescue in their spare time. Please allow 2-3 business days for a response.

* Applicants must be willing to make a ten plus year commitment to their new family member.

* Applicants must commit to daily exercise, walks, trips to the dog park or play in the back yard. A well exercised dog is a happy well behaved dog!

* Applicants living in a rental property must provide proof of pet policy from landlord.

* Applicants must provide a veterinarian reference and if there are existing dogs in the household. All pets must be spayed/neutered and current on all shots and heartworm medication.

*Please allow at least a 7-14 day adjustment period for your new dog. Rescue dogs go thru a lot of changes and need a few days to get used to their new surroundings and adjust. Adopting a dog should be a serious commitment, so please be willing to work out the kinks. Our dogs aren't perfect but with proper training and guidance they make awesome, loving pets.

*Our adoption fees vary based on the age and medical needs of the dogs.

We are a private, nonprofit, all breed, no-kill dog rescue.
