My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Debbie!

Debbie is a 5-year-old, 13-pound off-white miniature poodle mix who is just beginning to discover how good life can be. She arrived at Canine Collective with her mom, Darlie, after leaving an Amish breeding situation, and at first she was understandably confused and frightened by the world around her.

With time, patience, and a loving rescue home, Debbie has started to blossom. Shes learned to potty outside and can also use washable pee pads. After her first haircut, Debbie began peeking out at this big new world and before long, she discovered some pretty wonderful things like belly rubs, gentle kisses, and her favorite Snausage treats.

Debbie does need a little time to build trust, but once she does, her sweet nature shines through. A calm, patient home (and maybe a confident canine friend) will help her continue to gain confidence and feel safe.

Debbie is ready to leave her past behind and start her next chapter. If you have the heart to go slow and the love to give, please apply at **www.caninecollective.org

Our adoption process takes several steps and cannot be completed in one day. All of our volunteers work full time and assist the rescue in their spare time. Please allow 2-3 business days for a response.

* Applicants must be willing to make a ten plus year commitment to their new family member.

* Applicants must commit to daily exercise, walks, trips to the dog park or play in the back yard. A well exercised dog is a happy well behaved dog!

* Applicants living in a rental property must provide proof of pet policy from landlord.

* Applicants must provide a veterinarian reference and if there are existing dogs in the household. All pets must be spayed/neutered and current on all shots and heartworm medication.

*Please allow at least a 7-14 day adjustment period for your new dog. Rescue dogs go thru a lot of changes and need a few days to get used to their new surroundings and adjust. Adopting a dog should be a serious commitment, so please be willing to work out the kinks. Our dogs aren't perfect but with proper training and guidance they make awesome, loving pets.

*Our adoption fees vary based on the age and medical needs of the dogs.
