My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Mister. I’m a laid-back, confident guy who enjoys doing my own thing while still keeping my people company. I’m friendly, affectionate, and pretty vocal—I’ll definitely let you know when I want something or when it’s time for attention. I love lap time and head pets, and when I’m done, I simply wander off. I came to the shelter because my family is moving into a condo, and since I’ve been an indoor/outdoor cat, that lifestyle just won’t work for me anymore. I’ve lived with a child, guinea pigs, other cats, and even dogs—and I actually really like dogs. I do best with kids who understand how to respect my space, and I’m happiest when interactions are on my terms. I’m relaxed, not clingy, and enjoy just hanging out nearby. I’m not big into toys these days, especially since becoming an outdoor cat, but I enjoy fresh air and independence. If you’re looking for a calm, social cat who enjoys companionship without being demanding—and who might like some outdoor access—I could be the perfect fit. I’m just looking for a home that suits my lifestyle so I can keep being my chill, lovable self.

More about this shelter

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. The Humane Society has a publicly-tendered contract with the City of Windsor to provide animal control and basic shelter services in the City. This is only a portion of the work done by our organization. In 2016 almost 12,000 animal came through the doors of our shelter and spay/neuter clinic. We can’t help them without your support.
