If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Rocky got his name because life gave him a rocky start, but he is a true fighter. We found him at about 8 weeks old and learned from the vet that his back right leg is dislocated, his back left leg has nerve damage, and he has some spinal bruising. He was too small for surgery, so supportive care was recommended.
The good news is Rocky is improving. He is starting to try to use his dislocated leg as it's healing, he gets around in his own way, and has a great quality of life. He is playful, curious, and loves his cat toys. He is not in pain and enjoys being a kitten. He is now about 4 months old.
With time and support, he may be able to rely on one back leg, and if needed later, amputation of the non-functional leg could be an option. My mom has been caring for him, but due to asthma she is unable to keep him long-term.
We are looking for a safe, loving indoor home that understands special care for this special needs boy.
