Bear is a sweet, thoughtful little guy who likes to take things at his own pace. He can be cautious at first, but once he realizes everything is safe, his playful puppy personality shines right through. Watching his confidence grow is incredibly rewarding, and each day he becomes a bit braver than the last.
True to his name, Bear looks just like a tiny bear cub—with the cuddly personality to match! He absolutely loves affection and has a special talent for leaning right into you to soak up all the attention. We’re pretty sure he’s going to grow up to be a big lap dog who believes he belongs right by your side.
Bear adores spending time with his brother, especially when it comes to going outside to play and potty. After a good round of playtime, the boys will grab a bite to eat, curl up for a nap, and then happily do it all over again. At night, Bear does wonderfully—he settles quickly and sleeps quietly through most of the night.
Because he’s a bit more cautious, Bear sometimes takes a funny “peek-and-retreat” approach when coming out of his kennel—poking his head out, giving a quick bark, darting back in, and repeating until he builds up the confidence to fully emerge. It’s endearing and just part of his gentle, careful nature.
Above all else, Bear is a loving, cuddly puppy who wants nothing more than to be close to his people. If you’re looking for a sweet companion who will grow into a loyal, affectionate shadow, Bear may be the perfect match for you.
Bear is from a local reservation. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.

*Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be full grown.*
If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.
