If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Sammy came into our lives after my brother got Sammy as a kitten. My brother lives with my parents, but didn't discuss with them whether they'd be OK with him having a cat. Eventually, my dad wanted the cat out of his house because Sammy would shamelessly steal any and all food, so my wife and I took him in with the expectation that my brother would move in with us and be with/take care of Sammy. That never came to pass, however. Unfortunately, Sammy doesn‘t get along with the other cat that we already have in our house, so we have to permanently separate them to keep them from fighting. My wife is currently pregnant, and after looking over our budget, we realized we can't afford both cats and the baby. Sammy has a habit of pouncing, jumping on people and hangs from them with his claws, so we'd rather not risk him accidentally hurting the baby when it arrives. Though he's a bit rough, he can be playful and affectionate. My brother has given the OK to having Sammy rehomed.
