HOW TO ADOPT: This animal is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this animal, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.
---
- A lounger who can't get enough pets and wants to be touching his people at all times!
- Likes toys and chews he can spending lots of time licking and chewing on; seems to prefer those to squeak or tug toys
- Loves running around in his foster family's yard
- Knows sit and shake, walks nicely on a leash, and is treat-motivated
- Fully housetrained in his foster home and also does well in his crate; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new routine
- Seems to feel more comfortable in his kennel/crate when his foster family is not home
- His foster family says he tends to get nervous on car rides
- Can be an introvert around other dogs and may prefer one-on-one interactions or smaller groups of dog friends who have a similar play style; may not be comfortable at dog parks or at large, dog-friendly events (dog intro recommended)
- Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for him (mature home recommended)
All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)
The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
