My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

💙 Meet Blue — Coming Soon, and Hoping for His Fresh Start 💙

Blue is a 2-year-old charcoal Lab with soulful amber eyes, a goofy streak, and a heart that truly wants to belong. He isn’t in our care just yet, but he will be coming to us in a few weeks and we’re hoping to line up the right home for him ahead of time.

Right now, Blue is living in a small apartment where he simply doesn’t have the space he needs to thrive. He’s a big, playful boy who loves to run, explore, and burn off energy — and without that outlet, he’s begun to show signs of stress. His people love him deeply and want more for him than they can give.

What Blue is great at:
• House-trained and uses a bell to ask to go outside
• Knows commands and enjoys training time (especially if treats are involved)
• Very affectionate, cuddly, and people-oriented
• Goofy, playful, and full of personality
• Does well with children
• Loves toys, zoomies, hugs, and being near his people

What Blue needs to be successful:
• A home with space to run and explore
• A patient, confident adopter who understands nervous or under-socialized dogs
• Continued positive training and structure
• A cat-free home
• Careful dog introductions (he can be selective and gets overwhelmed easily)

Blue can be nervous and lacks confidence, which sometimes shows as overexcitement or mouthy behavior when he’s unsure. He has never bitten, but he does best with handlers who understand canine body language, respect boundaries, and can help him learn appropriate ways to cope and interact. With the right guidance, Blue has so much potential.

At his core, Blue is a sweet, loving dog who wants connection. He’ll cuddle when you’re having a bad day, follow you from room to room, and greet you like you’re the best part of his world. He’s not a bad dog — he’s a dog who needs understanding, space, and consistency.

If you’re a dog lover looking for a loyal companion and you believe you could be the home Blue has been waiting for, we’d love to talk with you before he even arrives.
