My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOR ADOPTION: POM is an approximately 2 year old female that has been in our care for 10 months now. You may recognize her from previously being advertised looking for a barn type home. We are incredibly happy to announce that Pom now wants to be someone’s treasured pet. Due to the quiet dedication of a small group of volunteers Pom has transformed from a fearful and aggressive girl to an affectionate love bug that wants nothing more than to snuggle. She is meeting more people everyday and expanding her trusted group with each interaction. Pom takes a little time to trust new people in her life but once she trusts you it is 100%. She loves to be pet and snuggled (belly rubs are her favourite) and she’s quickly learning that being held and hugged feels great! Pom does also have a bit of a playful side. Toy mice are her favourite and she will likely still be a fantastic hunter if given the chance. Pom is excellent with other cats and will flourish in a home with another friendly feline or felines for companionship and to be role models for her first time living in a home. She is also comfortable with calm dogs, over exuberance will still scare her but if the dog can ignore her while she settles in Pom will be happy to share space with them. Pom is still quite nervous of loud children but she will happily accept pets from them while they are calm and gentle. Her ability to live with children will depend on their personalities but she can absolutely handle kids visiting. Although she was outdoors prior to coming to NWAS we do feel Pom will do best in an indoor only home as she settles into life as a pet. She could go into hiding if she is allowed outside and that would be heartbreaking. Pom has become super cuddly and affectionate, she very obviously wants to love and be loved by people. All that being said, she will still require a patient family that will give her the time she needs to settle into a home environment. A home is something she’s never experienced before and there are bound to be many aspects of home life that will be scary as she gets used to them. She is spayed, vaccinated and up to date on parasite control. If you’ve been looking for a snuggly buddy to add to your patient family apply today at www.NWAS.ca for a chance to meet POM #NWASPom
