Penny Sue is a relaxed, easygoing 5-year-old Basset Hound mix who settled into her foster home right away and blended seamlessly with the pack. She’s wonderfully low-maintenance and incredibly easy to love—especially if you appreciate a true champion napper! Her favorite activity is snoozing in a sunny spot where she can soak up the warmth.
Penny Sue is housetrained and crate-trained, making her a breeze to care for. She’s gentle, calm, and would be a lovely addition to a home with children of any age. She adores people and happily barks to greet her family when they come home. While she’ll occasionally play with toys, Penny Sue is happiest relaxing in a comfy dog bed, simply enjoying the moment.
She also likes to join her foster siblings for a leisurely patrol of the yard, sometimes followed by a quick game of tag before heading back inside for another well-earned nap.
Sweet, mellow, and always content, Penny Sue is ready to bring peace and happiness to her forever home. Contact BROOD today to meet Penny Sue! Her adoption fee is $250.00.
**Only BROOD-approved adopters can meet a dog (no exceptions). Our adoption application is on the BROOD website at https://brood-va.org/adoptionapp/. We adopt to residents of Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, DC, Delaware, and southern Pennsylvania. Do not apply to adopt from BROOD if you live in another state. We require a virtual home visit and a veterinary reference. The age of BROOD dogs is an estimate, as very few come with exact age records. 12/22/2025
