My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Boo: A Little Terrier Mix With a Big Heart

Hi there! My name is Boo, and even though I’m small—only about 25 pounds—my heart is huge and full of hope. I’m about a year and a half old, and I’m looking for the person or family who will finally give me the forever home I’ve been dreaming about. Maybe that’s you.

I don’t remember much about my past. I was picked up as a stray, wandering alone with no one to claim me. I waited at animal control for about a month and a half, watching people come and go, hoping someone would recognize me. But no one ever came. I didn’t understand why, but I kept believing something better was waiting for me.

And I was right. Central Arizona Animal Rescue took me in, and now I’m safe, loved, and getting ready for my next chapter. I’ll stay here until the perfect home comes along, but I can’t help imagining what it will feel like to finally belong somewhere.

A Little About Me

  • Sweet with people: I adore humans—big ones, small ones, quiet ones, loud ones. If you have hands for petting, I’m already your fan.
  • Great with other dogs: I love to play, run, and make new canine friends.
  • Young and full of life: At about 1½ years old, I’m the perfect mix of playful energy and cuddle‑ready calm.
  • Light grooming needs: My short coat doesn’t require much upkeep at all.
  • Apartment‑friendly size: At just 25 pounds, I’d do wonderfully in a smaller home or even an apartment.

What Kind of Mix Am I?

No one knows for sure, but people keep guessing I might have some Boston Terrier or similar small terrier breed in me. Whatever I am, I’ve been told I’m adorable, compact, and full of personality. Terrier mixes are known for being smart, loyal, and fun-loving—and I definitely check all those boxes.

My Personality

I’m the kind of dog who wants to be near my people. I don’t need anything fancy—just someone who will let me hang out nearby, maybe curl up next to them, and feel safe. I’m playful, affectionate, and always ready to brighten someone’s day. I don’t know my history, but I know the kind of future I want: one filled with kindness, stability, and love.

My Health & Care

I’m all set and ready to go home.

  • Current on vaccinations
  • Spayed
  • Microchipped so I’ll always have a way to find my way back home

What I’m Hoping For

I’d thrive with someone who wants a loyal companion—a dog who will greet them with joy, follow them from room to room, and make even ordinary days feel a little brighter. I don’t take up much space, but I promise I’ll fill your home with love.

If you think we might be a match, I’d really love to meet you. Please e‑mail mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment. I’ll be here at Central Arizona Animal Rescue, waiting with a wagging tail and a hopeful heart.
