My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Oliver! I am about 6 years old and a big ol boy who is looking for a second chance!

I have made great progress since coming to the rescue, but for me to be successful there are some things you should know about me:

1.) I have a history of abuse. I am always going to carry this with me, so if you are looking for a flawless dog, I am not the one for you.

2.) I have learned to trust people, but it still can take me a few minutes to warm up.

3.) I love to play with toys, so if you are going to give me a home you must have a huge toy basket.. or be willing to accumulate one for me.

4.) I would do best with teens and up since I am such a big strong boy and I don't think I would understand being poked at by small children.

5.) I know my basic commands and love to practice the agility yard at the rescue!

6.) I get along with other playful dogs, however I will resource guard my food so this has to be taken into consideration when adopting me! I don't get along with dominant or challenging dogs or cats!

I know this is a long list that may make me not a candidate for you and that's okay!
I know the right home is out there!
I have come such a long way and the rescue will continue to guide me until I have found that perfect person!

My rescue mama tells me secretly that I am her favorite dog at the rescue.. but don't tell anybody, I don't want to hurt anybody's feelings.

I was also recently cat tested and I did just fine! I showed no aggression to the resident cat at the rescue. I was a little wary at first though. So I just need a slow and proper intro.

If you think you are the one for me and have experience with big ol handsome dudes like me please fill out an adoption application at cbmrescue.org.
