My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Artie is wishing you a happy day! This sweet, snuggly guy has been in and out of our care since October 2024, and hes hoping his perfect match will come along soon.

Dont let him fool you! Artie may be 8, but hes still got puppy-level energy. Hes a big fan of long walks, yard zoomies and chasing fun wherever he finds it. Although Artie loves to goof around, he also has a calm side. If you want to snuggle up in bed or have a cuddle buddy to watch TV with, Artie is your boy!

Artie isnt in the market for cat friends and needs to live in a cat-free home. He is also part of our Patient Paws sponsorship, meaning you can name your own adoption fee when you adopt Artie. If he sounds like the right fit for your household, come by our humane center to visit him today!

Artie was part of a disaster relief transfer from Milton, Florida.

Artie is currently in a foster home, being a model resident. If you would like to learn more about Artie, you can contact Richmond SPCA at 804-521-1307 or adopt@richmondspca.org.

Their adoption process

1.

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

We have daily adoption hours (please check our website for holiday changes), and no appointment is required.

2.

Meet the Pet

Walk through the dog and cat adoption areas, and when a pet tugs on your heart strings, we encourage you to speak with an adoption counselor

3.

Submit Application

Tell us about your expectations, wishes and members of your household on our one-page adopter survey.

4.

Interview

Less an "interview" more "conversation." Your adoption counselor will use your adopter survey as a guide and review the pet's file.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

You'll be asked to show a government-issued photo identification and proof of your address.

6.

Pay Fee

Check out in our Lora Robins Gift shop where essential supplies for your new companion are available for purchase.

7.

Take the Pet Home

You'll take your new companion home the same day. Expert behavior support is available by calling 804-643-7722.
