Meet Sideways, a young, cuddly, and curious pup full of energy and love. He`s perfectly house trained and walks beautifully on a leash. Not just playful and sweet, Sideways is also protective of his loved ones and loves to be a comforting lap dog. His affectionate nature makes him incredibly lovable, though he can be a bit insecure at times, needing reassurance. He weighs 11 pounds and enjoys running, tugging, and toys. He was given up because there were too many animals in the home and he had little socialization with others. He was playful with his siblings but has no experience with other dogs. He behaved well with teenagers but because of his insecurities and nervous demeanor, he`ll need to live in a home with kids at least 15 years old. Sideways would thrive in a home where he can receive the love and attention he deserves, becoming a devoted and joyful companion. (tw 12/23/2025)

Pet Adoption Fees
CAP adoption fees include a variety of services - age-appropriate vaccinations, canine heartworm, and feline leukemia tests, spaying/neutering, deworming treatment, microchipping to name a few - the total value of which exceeds $450. These minimal adoption fees cover only part of each animal's stay at our shelter - please help us keep adoption fees low while maintaining the high quality of care for the animals in our charge by donating and/or volunteering.

CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
