Hello future family! My name is Joyce Byers, mommy to the Stranger Things Litter of 11. I was found as a stray and made my way to MN after giving birth to 11 huge puppies. I always have a smile on my face for you and want to just cuddle with my humans more than anything else. And you will want to cuddle because my coat is silky soft!

I am potty trained and haven’t had any accidents in the house. I love to be outside…even on those cold days I do a great job getting outside to do my business. Rolling in the snow and eating the snow is one of my favorite things. I am a pretty quiet girl and rarely bark.

I am learning to be a “pet” dog. I don’t fully understand toys yet but have been working on puzzle toys and eat out of e puzzle bowl (because I eat fast!). My favorite meal topper is unsalted sardines…so stinky! I am friendly with the three resident dogs here, especially outside. Inside the house, I want human mom all to myself. I haven’t figured out how to play with them yet and mostly ignore them…even though they have tried to playbow and tippy tap to invite me to play. Maybe I will become more playful when I find my forever home and have time to socialize without my little babies.

I am easy to train and very treat motivated. I am learning to wait for treats to take them more gently. I am very attentive to my human and am good at following her directions while training. She says I am very smart and could become my best doggy self.

Are you the family for me? I always have a happy face for my human and just love to be near you! Belly rubs are my absolute favorite! Foster mom says that she can tell that I just want to please the humans…get the cuddles…and eat all the treats! I would do great with any family who likes to be outdoors and/or active and who wants to help train me to be my best self. I would be ok being the only dog in the household and soak up all the love for myself! Fill out an app to meet me…you won’t be disappointed!

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters.

How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.

Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed.

If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
