My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! My name’s Aisa, and I’m excited to share a little about me!

Breed: Labrador Retriever mix
Age: 2 years old
Gender: Female
Weight: 13 kg
Height: Less than 35 cm (ground to shoulder)
Country of origin: Turkey
Highlight(s): Calm, social, emotionally intelligent, gentle, affectionate

Hi there! I’m Aisa, a calm and loving girl with a gentle soul. I bring peace wherever I go and love being close to my people in the quietest, sweetest way.

I was rescued and brought into care where I finally learned what safety and kindness feel like. Since then, I’ve been living in a foster home, discovering the comfort of routine, gentle voices, and loving humans. I’ve shown everyone just how adaptable, grateful, and balanced I truly am.

I’m gentle, social, and emotionally very aware. I love people and enjoy simply sitting beside you while you talk, almost as if I’m listening to every word. When I’m being petted and spoiled, I sometimes get so happy that I burst into joyful zoomies!

I get along wonderfully with other dogs and enjoy playtime, but I also know when things get too busy. When that happens, I calmly remove myself, find a quiet spot, and take a nap. It’s just my natural way of keeping peace and balance. I love walks and have excellent leash manners. I enjoy cuddles, calm companionship, and gentle affection. I’m never demanding — just thankful for every bit of love you give me.

I would thrive in a calm, loving home where I can be close to my humans, enjoy daily walks, and share peaceful moments together. I may be happiest with another dog in the home or if regular dog social time.

Energy Level: Moderate

I Get Along With:

Dogs: Yes, with all dogs

Cats: Unknown

Kids: maybe with older teenagers, seems frightened of quick child movements.

Fears: None observed. Please be patient while I continue my transition.

Training:

Leash skills: Yes, but I still enthusiastically pull - need more trianing

House trained: Yes, but can pee a little if get scared, like by a bigger dog being too assertive.  I don’t destroy anything, can stay alone without barking.

Health Notes: I am fully healthy and well cared for.

Fully vaccinated (Rabies, KC, DHPPL). Dewormed & on flea/tick prevention. Spayed & microchipped. Tested negative for Leishmania, Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Anaplasma, Giardia, Parvo, Corona & Distemper.

Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.

Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.

Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.

Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.

The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.

Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live.

While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee.

[MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.

[TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Leishmania, Heartworm, Ehrlichia, & Anaplasma, as well as Giardia, Parvo, Corona & Distemper.
