My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Spike Lee — A Tiny Soul with a Huge Heart
Adult Chihuahua • Fostered in Audubon, NJ

Spike Lee may not be big, fluffy, or puffy — but what he is will steal your heart in seconds. This precious little Chihuahua was surrendered to rescue when his family could no longer care for him.

Spike is incredibly sweet, gentle, and emotionally tuned in. When you talk to him, he listens — truly listens — tilting his head, studying your face, and trying his very best to understand and be a good boy. He’s brave and confident in a quiet way, and while he could be a leader, he’s just as happy letting another dog take the lead if one is around.  He is a little tri-pawed boy, but that doesn't stop him from living his best life!

This little guy’s favorite place in the world? Your arms.
Spike is happiest when he’s being cuddled, held close, and reassured that you’re not going anywhere. He doesn’t love being left alone and would absolutely thrive in a home where someone is around most of the day — a work-from-home buddy, a retiree, or anyone who wants a constant companion.

He also has the sweetest outdoor habit — when he’s in the yard on a warm day, he’ll close his eyes, lift his little face to the sun, and just soak it all in. It’s impossible not to smile when you see it.

Spike Lee is fully ready for his forever home:
Neutered
Up to date on all vaccines
Microchipped

Spike may not catch your eye because of flashy fur, but he will capture your heart with his devotion, sensitivity, and quiet love. He’s the kind of dog who bonds deeply, loves fully, and just wants to be someone’s baby.

Spike Lee is being fostered in Audubon, NJ.

If you have room in your heart and home for this doll baby, please fill out an application:

Sometimes the best dogs aren’t the fluffiest — they’re the ones who love the hardest.

Go meet their pets

Our rescues are with fosters on the east coast. The location in which the foster resides should be listed with each profile.

We are setting up some adoption events now, but are free for private meet and greets if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets!

More about this rescue

We have a passion for senior animals. To be able to save an animal from dying alone in a shelter, to give it a chance to live out its last days/months/years in a home with the proper care and love it deserves, instead of a cold shelter, is what drives us to keep going.

We obviously have financial needs that come with rescuing senior dogs, so we will be rescuing puppies and younger dogs as well so we are able to care for our seniors.
