My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mo! She came from the outdoors, and was a little nervous of humans and indoor life at first, but is now flourishing and enjoying warm blanket naps and her fancy feast! Mo often comes to greet her foster parents when they enter the room, and is a purr machine. She will come to you for pets, to check out what you're doing (she's a curious girl!), and has even learned how to weave through her humans legs as they walk. She will plop into your lap or chest for a cuddle sesh, and get cozy next to you as well for pets and cuddles - including some belly rubs!. Mo is a big player and will never turn down the chance to chase a wand or wrestle with her siblings. She has been carrying her favorite toys around in her mouth, and has even been bringing them to her foster humans for them to throw for her! Mo would do best in a patient household to continue help building her confidence. While she will come check out what the humans are up to and come up for pets and cuddles when she wants, Mo does not like being picked up and can sometimes be startled at quick movements or someone trying to pet her directly at her face. She does not hide though, she just prefers her space sometimes. Her ideal household needs someone who is calm and quiet and understanding of her boundaries. But make no mistake, she is a love bug and wants to be around her humans.

Note:  if you do not have any other pets, we require that you adopt TWO kittens.  This is for the benefit of the kitten for behavioral development.  Companionship is critical.

They will also entertain each other and you!

We offer a low cost spay and neuter package.

This cat has tested FeLV/FIV. negative, is current on vaccinations, parasite-free and litter-box trained.

More about this rescue

Founded 1996, the Pet Adoption and Lifecare Society received non-profit status in January 2000. Since then, we have placed hundreds of cats and dogs into loving homes every year. Our animals are temporarily loved and cared for in foster homes until permanent homes can be found. All of our cats are FeLV/FIV negative unless otherwise noted under special needs. They have also had all vaccines for which they are eligible. Some of our animals have incurable diseases and are placed in hospice care where care is given for life if a loving home that is able to care for special needs animals cannot be found.

P.A.L.S. has developed a model for rescue that is careful, effective and which has certain philosophies that govern our decisions. We are a true no-kill organization. The only reason we ever euthanize an animal is because it is suffering and the suffering cannot be relieved. We do not euthanize for logistical, behavioral or economical reasons. Every animal that comes under our protection has a place in P.A.L.S. for the rest of its life. Adopters sign a contract agreeing to, amongst other things, return the adopted animal to P.A.L.S. should they ever be unable to care for it.
