If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Gator is a pitbull around 5/6 years old. We adopted him from AWL about 2 years ago. He loves walks, cuddles, sunbathing, toys (fav color seems to be blue), & treats. He gives the best hugs! He’s a happy boy whose tail wags every time you look at him. Once even wagging it so hard he sprang it! He unfortunately has had multiple episodes of aggression. He's gotten into 4 dog fights, including with another dog in our household, & ended up biting me when I had to pull the 2 dogs apart in the most recent fight. He resource guards his food & toys. For these reasons I feel he’d do better in a house where he is the only pet. Our main concern is 2 incidents where he has growled at small children. We have a baby in the NICU coming home soon & fear for his safety. The decision to rehome Gator is the most difficult one I’ve ever made. We love him so much and want so badly for him to end up with good people. I think he would be an excellent pet for a couple without other animals or young children.
