My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Einstein – 2-Year-Old Playful, Smart, Affectionate Companion

Hello, my name is Einstein, and I’d love to tell you a little about myself! At 2 years old, I’m a lot like a curious 4-year-old toddler—sometimes cautious with new experiences, but I warm up quickly and adjust fast.

I love to play. Fetch and tug-of-war are my absolute favorites, and when I get excited, I bounce around like a little antelope. I’m also very affectionate and enjoy spending time with people. I give great kisses and will never turn down a belly rub. Since joining my foster family, I’ve been friendly and gentle with everyone I’ve met.

I already know several basic commands like sit, shake, and wait for food. I’m learning how to walk nicely on a leash, and I’m working on becoming fully housebroken. Right now, I’m learning to use a bell to tell my humans when I need to go outside.

I’m kennel-trained and sleep happily in my crate at night and when my foster family is away. Even though I’m a bigger boy, I really appreciate being accepted as a lap dog—it’s my favorite place to be. I enjoy chew toys, especially the tough, indestructible ones.

If you’re looking for a playful, loving, smart dog who wants to learn, bond deeply, and be your loyal companion, I’d be thrilled to meet you!

✨ All Heart of America Humane Society dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations. If you have other dogs in your home, we require that they meet our dog prior to adoption.

More about this rescue

The Heart of America Humane Society is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization helping to place shelter and foster animals into permanent homes in and around the greater Kansas City metro area.

Our goal is to save and improve the lives of Kansas City's homeless companion animals by promoting responsible pet ownership. The Heart of America Humane Society (HAHS) partners with the Lee's Summit Animal Shelter (Lee's Summit MO) and KCK Animal Services (Kansas City KS) to increase pet adoptions into responsible, permanent homes.

Background
Our organization does not have a permanent facility or paid staff, so many of our adoptions take place at PetSmart stores and occasionally through other event venues. Some events raise awareness and bring in donations for our animal support efforts, while others help acknowledge and show appreciation for our own volunteers (who perform all duties outside of their regular jobs). Visit our website to learn more about us at heartofamericahs.org.
