My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Pelican, and I’m a gentle, thoughtful little guy with a big heart. I might seem a bit timid at first and take a little longer to warm up than my brothers, but once I feel safe, I become incredibly sweet and affectionate.

I love rubbing up against my foster parents and giving head bumps to show my love. I enjoy playing and running around with my brothers, but I’m also happy entertaining myself. I’m more relaxed than my siblings and really enjoy quiet time—especially perched up high on a cat tree where I can watch everything going on below.

Food is one of my favorite things, followed closely by playtime. I’m curious about the world, even if I approach new things carefully at first. I don’t love being chased, but with patience and gentle handling, I truly shine.

I do great with other cats, use the litter box perfectly, and don’t have any fears or anxiety. If you’re looking for a sweet, slightly shy kitten who blossoms into a loving companion, I might be the one for you.

My adoption fee includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention. Plus, a microchip that is already registered to you! What more could you ask for?

If you`d like to meet me, please fill out an application on our website, PawmettoLifeline.org.

Adoptions are by appointment Tuesday through Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays, you’re welcome to walk in anytime between 10:00am and 5:00pm. Please note that we’re closed for adoptions on Sundays and Mondays

More about this shelter

Pawmetto Lifeline, formerly Project Pet, was founded in 1999. Since the opening of our adoption, medical, and boarding facility in Spring 2012, we have been able to save more than 15,000 companion pets from euthanasia and gave them a new lease on life. We continue to strive toward the goal of a no-kill community and state through adoption, pet retention, rescue partnerships, and medical services.
