My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MBR holds monthly adoption events on the 2nd Saturday of every month at Tractor Supply in Columbia Station, 24100 Royalton Road from 11 am - 2 pm. Questions can be emailed to rescue@mbrohio.com
Jaba is an 80-pound Rottweiler mix with the heart of a true gentle giant. He’s incredibly sweet, craves human attention, and loves staying close to his people. With his easy-going personality, Jaba is happiest just being near you and soaking up affection.
He does well with other dogs but has not yet met kids and does not do well with cats, so a cat-free home is a must. Jaba is both potty trained and crate trained, though he does not enjoy being crated while his humans are away for work and has been known to find his way out—he’d likely do best with a secure setup or alternative confinement plan.
Jaba is smart and eager to please. He knows sit, down, and stay, though he does pull on the leash and would benefit from continued training. With consistency, he has great potential to polish his manners. He enjoys toys but tends to eat plush ones, so tougher toys are best. Jaba is also content playing independently and can entertain himself.
Sweet, loyal, and calm, Jaba truly lives up to the title of “gentle giant.” He’s looking for a loving home that will appreciate his affectionate nature and help him continue to grow into the best boy he can be.
If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, the first thing to do is submit an application for approval. All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the rescue location as it is a privately run boarding, training & grooming facility. Individual meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters.

Additional adoption info

Due to recent events, we use discretion when adopting to a home with children under the age of 5 and to an adult under 23. This does not mean you are automatically disqualified, but we may require additional information.

The adoption fee for all animals listed depends on the breed/species, age, vet care, cost to pull from the kill shelter, worming medicine, flea medicine, vaccinations, micro chip, etc. The adoption fee BARELY covers all of the previous mentioned expenses. Please do not ask for us to lower the fee.

All adopters must fill out an application. Please note: Once you submit an adoption application, it could possibly take up to 10 days to process. Thank you for your patience. Please email us for an adoption application at rescue@mbrohio.com or submit on our website http://www.mbrohio.com/adoption-application/

Go meet their pets

The dogs listed on this site are located at various foster homes throughout Ohio & some are located at a private boarding facility. Anyone wishing to visit one of our dogs or other animals must first complete an application and be an approved adopter before scheduling an appointment. Majority of scheduled appointments take place at a boarding facility in Grafton, Ohio

Please make a note that we do not transport our animals to you; you would need to come to Grafton Ohio to meet and possibly adopt.

More about this rescue

This site supports a small group of people who try to help as many animals that we can that have been displaced. All of the animals are checked by a vet, altered and updated on all vaccinations prior to going to a home.

We are all volunteers who do the best that we can with the limited funds and resources available to us. We give the potential adopter as much information as we can, including copies of all vet records but we normally do not know the history of the animals, as they are strays at the pound or taken by a humane officer from poor living conditions. Very rarely do we have owner releases. Most dogs in our program were minutes away from being put to sleep so the pound could make space for more strays.
