My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Peppermint, a lovely 1-year-old brown tabby with a gentle presence and a heart full of potential. Peppermint is a sweet young cat who is still finding her confidence, and she may be a little shy when first settling into a new environment. With patience, routine, and kindness, she begins to relax and show her softer, affectionate side.

Peppermint is located in the Dawson Creek area and is looking for an indoor-only home where she can feel safe and secure. She would thrive in a calm, predictable environment that allows her to adjust at her own pace and build trust with her people.

At her age, Peppermint enjoys a balance of playful moments and quiet downtime. She benefits from daily interactive play, cozy resting spots, and enrichment like scratching posts and toys to help her feel comfortable and engaged. She is using her litter box well and will continue to blossom with gentle guidance and a consistent routine.

Peppermint is searching for a loving, committed home where she will be given the time and understanding she needs to settle in and truly shine. If you're ready to welcome a gentle, sweet companion and help her grow into her confidence, Peppermint would love the chance to meet you. 🌿🐾

Additional adoption info

*General Adoption Information: If you are interested in adopting an animal from our shelter, you will need to come to Quesnel to visit the animal and process the adoption here. Due to our remote location we cannot arrange for animals to be transferred to a shelter closer to you by request.

Please note that in many of our provincial shelters renters are required to bring in copies of their strata council by-laws in order to be approved for adopting.

Please contact us at the shelter for any adoption requirements before visiting us to adopt so that you are correctly prepared to take your new family member home.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:
