How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by their previous owner.
Why this pet is the one for you:
Han is a beautiful fur ball who's looking for a place to call home! Chinchillas are lovely critters who require specialized care. Chinchillas can live up to twenty years so bringing one home is quite the commitment! This boy will require a large, multi-level enclosure (a minimum of five feet tall) with space to jump, forage, and run. He will also need a large wheel to exercise (a minimum of 15" tall), special dust baths at least two times a week, and daily time spent outside of his cage for enrichment. Chinchillas are very social animals who often do best in pairs or groups. With proper introductions, Han would likely enjoy a buddy to spend his life with (like his brother Bun!). Chinchillas are mountain dwelling animals who's thick coat is designed for the cooler climate of the Andes mountains. For this reason, Chinchillas MUST be kept indoors, in a temperature controlled climate that never goes above 75 degrees. It is also super important that they do not get wet! We recommend doing plenty of research on Chinchillas before bringing one of these sweeties home. If you're looking for a buddy who's as soft as a cloud to hang with then Han may be your guy! Come ask about him at our San Diego Campus today!
