I came to Safe Haven with my brother-Brazilnut and sister-Hazelnut, I am the most reserved out of the three of us. I don't feel comfortable being the center of attention and will often hide, I will allow people to pet and brush me, but I don't have enough experience with people to let them hold me. I've been told I will get better with people overtime, it will just take me longer than my siblings, but in the right home I will thrive. If you think your home is the home for me please submit an application for me today!

This 4 month old purrfect felines adoption donation is $75 which includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies vaccine, FVRCP vaccine, flea/tick preventative, and dewormer. Once an application is approved, we ask potential adopters to come to the shelter to visit the pet or pets they are interested in. If it seems like a great fit, then we would have you fill out the Adoption Contract and provide you with the pet's medical chart, some of the food it is currently eating, and offer any advice we can on that individual cat or dog.

Our shelter is located at 1471, US Highway 20 West, Elizabeth, IL, 61028. Our hours are: Monday - Saturday, 10am to 3pm. We can provide by-appointment-only visits from 3pm to 5:30pm. We are closed on Sundays.

Safe Haven is a small non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, located in Jo Daviess County and supported entirely by community donations & memberships. Our Board of Directors, Shelter Staff, and Dedicated Volunteers believe that together we can make a difference in the lives of cats, dogs, and the people who care about them.

Our mission at Safe Haven is to provide a haven and treatment for adoptable cats & dogs, place them in suitable homes, increase awareness of the humane treatment of animals and promote spay & neuter programs to reduce the overpopulation of cats and dogs in Jo Daviess County.
