Lady #8 and Missy #8 | Bonded Pair, 2-year-old Great Pyranees mixes| Certified Full-Contact Cuddlers

Looking for twice the love, twice the snuggles, and twice the joy? Lady and Missy are an incredibly loving bonded pair who are ready to spend the rest of their lives together in a forever home. They share a remarkable story—rescued in rural North Carolina along with their mother, Miss Ma’am, after being abandoned in the woods for weeks. Their bond is deep and unwavering, and they must be adopted together, as Lady provides Missy with confidence and comfort. Both girls are sweet, affectionate, and famously devoted to their people. “Personal space” is simply not part of their vocabulary—if given the choice, they would happily spend the entire day snuggled up together or on top of their humans, soaking up hugs and kisses.

Lady is a happy, affectionate girl with a big heart and an even bigger love for her people. At about 45 pounds, she’s a wonderful medium-sized companion who truly believes closeness is best. If given the chance, Lady would rather be draped across her human than doing anything else, resting not just her head but her entire body on you while she soaks up affection. She is sweet, playful, and lovingly described as “aggressively friendly,” greeting everyone she meets with joy, hugs, and kisses.

Lady is almost fully house trained and continues to improve daily with consistency and routine. She does great being left home alone and has proven herself to be a perfect angel. While she was initially crated and needed a bit of encouragement to settle, she now relaxes comfortably without a crate. On leash, Lady enjoys walks and settles into a nice rhythm after a few enthusiastic minutes at the start. She may bark back at dogs who bark at her, but overall walks are pleasant. Her energy level is best described as a couch potato with occasional bursts of play—she enjoys running around the yard with other dogs and would do well with one or two walks a day before settling in to relax.

Lady does well with dogs of all sizes and enjoys playtime, though she appreciates her space being respected. She has learned to coexist peacefully with cats and absolutely adores people of all ages. She loves toys, chewing on a good bone, treats of any kind, and handles car rides just fine. Lady’s ideal home includes a yard and adopters who truly enjoy a cuddly, affectionate dog who wants to be close—very close.

Missy is a gentle, sweet-natured girl with a soulful expression that makes you fall in love instantly. At around 35 pounds, she’s a perfect medium-sized companion who is happiest curled up on the couch, pressed close to her people or snuggled beside her sister, Lady. Missy is also “aggressively friendly,” showing her love through constant cuddles, hugs, and kisses, and she thrives on human connection.

Missy is mostly house trained and continues to improve every day. While she doesn’t yet have a clear signal to ask to go outside, consistency has helped her make great progress. She walks reasonably well on leash, settling into an easy pace after a short burst of excitement at the start. Missy does great being left home alone and has proven herself to be a perfect angel both crated and uncrated, settling quickly and relaxing until her people return.

Missy gets along beautifully with other dogs and prefers to stay close to Lady. She also does well with cats and mostly ignores them. While she hasn’t met children yet, she is a calm, gentle soul who loves everyone she meets and would likely do very well in a home with kids. She has a low-to-medium energy level and would be content with one or two casual walks a day, though her true passion is lounging on the couch or a cozy dog bed. Motivated by food and affection, Missy is easygoing, adaptable, and eager to please as she continues learning.

Lady and Missy’s story is one of resilience, love, and family. They have never known life apart and are deeply devoted to one another. Now, they are ready to continue their journey together in a forever home that will cherish them just as much as they cherish each other—and the humans lucky enough to love them.

If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.

The adoption fee for Lady and Missy as a bonded pair is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following:

Spay/neuter

Microchip

DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.

Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.

Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption.

Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process!

Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls.

PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/

Our adoption process is:

1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet.

2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
