Meet Velvet 🖤

Velvet is a beautiful 2-year-old medium-haired, black female with a heart as soft as her name. She is incredibly friendly and absolutely adores people—attention is her love language! Whether she’s lounging nearby or soaking up affection, Velvet enjoys being close to her humans and spending quiet, relaxed time together.

Velvet is a laid-back girl who prefers a calm environment. She dislikes dogs and can tolerate other cats, but would truly thrive as the only pet in the home, where she can have all the love to herself. She would do best in an adult-only home or with older children who understand and respect her relaxed nature.

Because she enjoys companionship and peaceful company, Velvet would be a wonderful match for someone who works from home or is around often and wants a chill, affectionate cat to keep them company during the day.

Their adoption process

1.
Meet the Pet

Once the potential adopter has found a pet they are interested in, they can visit the rescue in person and meet the cat or dog.

2.
Submit Application

Please note: Applicants should be age 21 or older. Fill out adoption application and submit for consideration.

3.
Approve Application

The application is then approved or rejected by the administration of our rescue.

4.
Pay Fee

At this point, the adopter pays the adoption fee for the cat or dog.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

We approve or deny adoptions based on various factors, such as a fenced yard for dogs, how many other pets a protentional adopter may have.

Each animal is different; our goal is to place the dog or cat with the most suitable home for their needs and safety.

We also prefer adopting to applicants aged 21 or older.

We are located in Lakeland, Florida. Our animals are available to be viewed online on our Facebook page, on websites such as, Adoptapet.com, Petfinder.com and Rescueme.org, or in person by appointment. We also do various adoption events at the Lakeland PetSmart, as well as other events around Polk County and surrounding areas.

If you need to contact us, preferred method is text at 863-258-8512 or instant message via our Facebook page. if you do call and we don't answer, please text or leave a voice mail. We may be busy with another adopter or taking care of the shelter animals.
