My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Darnell is a very sweet boy with a big love for his stuffies! If there’s a plush toy around, chances are it’s already his favorite. He may not be the brightest pup on the block, but what he lacks in smarts he more than makes up for in heart. With the power of tasty treats, Darnell is eager to learn and ready to be trained for just about anything.

This silly boy is full of love and joy and never fails to bring smiles with his goofy personality. We’re still getting to know all the little quirks that make Darnell who he is, but one thing is already clear: he has a special way of stealing hearts wherever he goes.

Darnell is patiently waiting for his forever home, could it be yours?

More about this shelter

We serve the pets and people in Northern Illinois and Southeastern Wisconsin. Our mission is clear: To take responsibility for each and every orphaned, abandoned, abused or neglected dog and cat which reaches our doors; to take them in and shelter them; to provide the best medical and physical care possible for them; to nurture them back to health if need be; and finally to place them into warm, loving, adoptive homes where they can enjoy the lives they deserve.
