My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Hopscotch- a tiny survivor with an unbreakable spirit.
Hopscotch’s story could have ended before it ever truly began. She was found wedged between two fence pickets, trapped there for three long days. By the time help arrived, her little arm had tragically self-amputated. The shelter that took her in had no veterinarian on staff and no funding to help—but within an hour, our community rallied. Because of that outpouring of support, Hopscotch was transported to us and received the urgent care she desperately needed.
Today, Hopscotch is doing something remarkable: she’s thriving.
This sweet tripod kitten is playful, gentle, and full of joy—the kind of joy that feels even more special knowing how close she came to never experiencing it. She gets around beautifully, doesn’t let her missing limb slow her down, and approaches life with curiosity, resilience, and a soft, loving heart. In her foster home, she’s shown just how adaptable and happy she can be when given safety, care, and kindness.
Hopscotch is a shining example of why rescue matters—and why we keep saying yes to the injured, the overlooked, and the ones who would have no chance without intervention. She’s not defined by what she lost, but by everything she’s gained: comfort, play, love, and a future.
If you’re looking for a truly special kitten who embodies strength, sweetness, and second chances, Hopscotch is ready to hop straight into your heart.

More about this rescue

Orphan Annie's Neonatal Rescue was founded by a licensed Pediatric and Neonatal Nurse Anesthesiologist and a Licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator. The founders are able to take their vast knowledge of saving human babies, and small mammals; and apply it to the very vulnerable orphaned kittens and puppies. At Orphan Annie's we take in the sickest, the smallest, the least likely to survive without our care. Every single animal we have for adoption has beat the odds. By the time they are available for their forever homes, we have months of our lives invested in these babies, and thus know everything there is to know about them. Our babies are hand-raised, so they are extremely friendly and eager to be a loving member of their forever homes.
