We were recently informed about this sweet pup named Baxter that needs a new home. We’re hoping to take him in after New Year’s. His family is moving and won’t be able to take him to the new place, unfortunately.
This is what we know about him so far:
* Age: 1 year old
* Weight: ~ 40lbs
* Playful? Yes
* Crate trained? Yes
* Potty trained? No (he’s been mostly outdoors)
* Good with other dogs? Yes
* Good with kids? His current family does not have kids

Included with adoption:
- Vet wellness exam
- Vaccinations up to date (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies)
- Fecal test (Pending results)
- FLEX4 test (Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Anaplasma and Lyme) (Pending results)
- Heartworm/Flea/Tick/Worm preventive given up to date (Simparica Trio)
- Microchip with prepaid lifetime enrollment (AKC reunite)
- Neutered
- Leash and collar with microchip ID collar tag
- Adoption contract
- Some of his current food
Baxter will be ready to be adopted soon, after we take him in and take him to our Vet. Pick up would be in San Diego, CA. Transportation could be arranged to the right home, if needed.

We set up an appointment to meet our available dogs that are ready to be adopted, with potential adopters after their application has been approved. If the dog is a good fit at the meeting appointment, the dog can go home the same day.
We also offer transportation options when the potential adopter is far away and can’t come to meet / pick up a dog from us. Feel free to reach out if interested in adopting but would need transportation.

We’re a Beagle rescue in San Diego, CA. Although we mainly rescue Beagles, we also receive other hounds in need such as Basset Hounds and Beagle/Basset Hound mixes. We’ve been Beagle owners for the last 8 years and we decided to start rescuing about 5 years ago simply because we love the breed, we love helping hounds finding loving forever homes. So far we’ve placed about 250+ hounds successfully in adoption.
