My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rufus is a sweet and handsome 6-year-old Catahoula with a beautiful Brindle coat and soulful eyes that melt hearts. Fully housetrained and well-mannered, he's a loyal companion who adores cuddling up on the couch after a fun play session with his favorite squeaky toys or chasing balls in the yard. Rufus knows "sit" like a pro and is always eager to please. He thrives in a home with older children who understand gentle play, gets along well with other dogs (though he can be protective of his treasured toys), and would prefer a cat-free environment. With his affectionate nature and playful spirit, Rufus is ready to bring endless love and joy to his forever family. $135.00 Fee includes initial vaccines, worming, microchip with registration, and free vet health exam. This pet has been fed Country Vet Naturals, donated to us by Country Vet.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

While you can’t put a price tag on a lifetime of hugs, kisses, companionship and unconditional love, there are costs involved in caring for a healthy pet. When you adopt a pet from the Siouxland Humane Society, we’ve already performed procedures that are critical for maintaining his or her good health. These important benefits are provided to you in the price of the adoption which include the following:

• Initial Preventative Vaccinations
• Deworming
• Microchipping
• Free Veterinary Health Exam

Cats/Kittens
$55 - $75 - $100 - $150*

Dogs/Puppies
$95 – $135 – $165 - $195 – 300*

• Price varies based on breed, age, spay/neuter status and veterinary costs. Higher fees go to help other pets who wait months to find homes.
• Prices may be less than those listed above for Cats/Kittens/Dogs/Puppies if the fee has been reduced from donations to our Sponsor a Pet Program.
