Pretty Baby is a 5-week-old female who came in as a stray on 11/10. Pretty Baby has a rostral mandibular lip avulsion and is in urgent need of placement.
Medical Notes:
Per staff 11/11: “Escaped nursery kennel evening of 11/10, tearing lip evulsion even more. Should leave for urgent surgical repair.”
Per an exam on 11/10:
-FAS 1/4
-rostral mandibular lip avulsion. no overt oral lesions.
-abdomen is distended but soft and comfortable on palpation with no apparent masses
-Allowed all handling, will try to run.

-Rostral mandibular lip avulsion
Behavior Notes:
Per staff 11/11: “Pretty Baby is very fearful in her kennel, but with slow movements, she can be pet, picked up and held. Despite her propensity to tremble and quake, when held, Pretty Baby made no attempts to bite. With gentle petting, she settled into my arms and was able to relax.”

The Animal Care & Control Team of Philadelphia (ACCT Philly) is the region’s largest animal care and control service provider. ACCT Philly is an independent, 501c3 nonprofit organization, contracted by the City of Philadelphia to provide animal control services. Our animal control officers provide service over 142.6 square miles to the city’s more than 1.5 million residents and ACCT Philly’s facility in North Philadelphia handles more than 17,000 of the city’s animals, from dogs and cats, to small animals, reptiles, birds and wildlife, annually.
