My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Blizzard! Our 1 year old, 61 pound, male lab mix. If you’ve ever wished for a walking cloud who also happens to be your best friend, Blizzard is your guy. This big, handsome boy is unforgettable, and guaranteed to sweep you off your feet mostly with love and playful energy. Blizzard is a large male dog with a playful temperment. He adores people, enjoys being close to his humans, who endulge in his play time, be it playing catch, tug-o-war or chase.

Blizzard a softie and is looking for a family who appreciates a loyal companion, and someone to take on walks and runs with. Blizzard would thrive in a home that welcomes his big presence and even bigger heart.

Walk-ins are available from Tuesday to Friday from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Saturday and Sundays have walk-in hours from noon to 4 PM. The best way to get in touch with us is by email: info@secondchancespca.org. Due to the volume of calls, only the most urgent calls will be returned. More about this rescue

Since 2006, we have operated Plano's first no-kill animal shelter. Our mission is to rescue at-risk cats and dogs from local municipal shelters.

We supply them with needed medical care, food, and shelter. Just as important, we provide all of our cats and dogs with the love and attention they deserve until they are placed into their forever homes. Come visit us and adopt your newest family member today! Everyone deserves a second chance.

Second Chance is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We are not affiliated with, nor do we receive any funding from, the SPCA of Texas, ASPCA, or any other humane organization. We do not receive any city, state, or federal funds.

Over the last 10 years, we've rescued over 3,200 dogs and cats who were slated for euthanasia at DFW municipal shelters and placed them with forever families.
